Abstract: One-dimensional nickel wires were synthesized by a hydrothermal method assisted by an external magnetic field. The morphology of the obtained nickel samples could be controlled by adding CTAB into the hydrothermal system as a coating agent. The as-prepared samples with different surface structures exhibit different magnetic properties and catalytic performance in hydrogenation.
