Abstract: A new biphosphorus ligand has been developed and applied in the rhodium-catalyzed regioselective hydroformylation of 2-butene. The effects of ligand/Rh ratio, reaction temperature, reaction pressure, and substrate/catalyst molar ratio were investigated. High activity and regioselectivity were achieved. The n-aldehyde/iso-aldehyde ratio of about 28.5 was obtained at 60 °C, and the TOF increased to 660 h-1 at the pressure of 2.0 MPa.
