Abstract: The influence of different nitrous organic compounds, including triethylamine, 2,6-dimethylpyridine, 4-carboxylic pyridine, pyridine, and 4-N,N-dimethylamino pyridine (DMAP), on the oxidation of toluene catalyzed by cobalt acetate and benzyl bromide was investigated. DMAP showed improvement for the activity. The promoting effect was discussed.
