Abstract: The new precursor, Ru(NH3)5Cl3, gives a more than 10% increase in the activity of the RuN/AC catalyst for ammonia synthesis over the conventional catalyst Ru/AC prepared from the RuCl3•nH2O precursor on activated carbon (AC) under the reaction conditions of 10 MPa and 10 000 h–1.
