Abstract: A series of fluoride-pillared layered double hydroxide (LDH-F) samples with different Mg/Al ratios were prepared and characterized by X-ray diffracti on, fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and B ET surface area measurements. The epoxidation of various olefins was carried out using LDH-F of Mg/Al =5 as the catalyst and 30%H2O2 and benzonitrile as th e oxidants. This catalytic system has excellent catalytic activity. The conversi on and selectivity are both above 95% in the epoxidation of styrene, indene, allyl alcohol, and allyl chloride.
