Abstract: Although only a small part of added Li was positioned on the Rh surface, the activity of the Rh-Mn/SiO2 catalyst was suppressed by Li doping, while its selectivity for C2-oxygenates especially for acetic acid was enhanced.

Key words: lithium, rhodium, manganese, silica, carbon monoxide, hydrogenation, C2-oxygenate
