Abstract: There is a strong interaction between CeO2 and Al2O3 in the Ce-Al mixed oxide. Some aluminum can be incorporated into the CeO2 lattice to change the lattice oxygen mobility. The existence of -Al2O3 improved the thermal stability of CeO2 as a “diffusion barrier”, which induced a higher catalytic activity for the mixed oxide compared to pure CeO2.
